Spring Professional is hiring for its international client, a Senior Java Developer, for Porto.

As a Senior Java Developer you will be responsible for the design and implementation of high quality software for our next-generation building lighting management systems.

Your remit will include but not limited to:

Develop and support the implementation of high quality server side software components for lighting and building automation services;

Develop and support a high quality and easy to use WebSocket API so 3rd party application developers can utilize the data and events in Building Management Systems (BMS);

Assist the adoption of best-in-class software development practices, frameworks and tools;

Work closely with senior developers and architects to translate overall architecture and requirements into well designed and implemented software components;

Participate in backlog refinements, sprint planning and product increment planning;

Participate in software design reviews;

Write unit and functional tests for your code and contribute to test automation and continuous integration and deployment processes.

Your profile: To be successful in this role, you hold a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar with at least 5 years practical experience in Java Development. You have expertise in OOAD (Object Oriented Analysis and Design) principles and a very good knowledge of Java SE/EE as well as related technologies like Hibernate, Junit, Mockito and Jetty. You are experienced in documenting, developing and testing REST and WebSocket APIs and comfortable in working in a Linux environment with good scripting knowledge.
