At this moment, Kelly Engineering Resources is recruiting a Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Active Safety, to be part of a Multinational Company, specialized in Automotive manufacturing, located in Braga.

Responsibilities and duties

*             Responsibility for industrialization of Active Safety Electronic Control Unit products from award phases until series production
*             Support kick-off meetings and manufacturing system design workshops with/in the product manufacturing location, create/adapt process flow
*             Drive design for manufacturing and design for assembly to ensure having a producible design
*             Ensure proper requirements management and align with aptiv design quality engineer accordingly, plan requirements transfer to product manufacturing location
*             Align industrialization deliverables with design quality engineer, being customer interface for technical discussion
*             Work out the production line concept with optimized material flow, estimated cycle times, and traceability concept
*             Work out supplier packaging requirements
*             Attend the regular product development team meetings and drive a proper escalation in case of problems
*             Create and maintain the MFGE project schedule respecting the project milestones
*             Prepare and organize the milestone build dates with process engineers from product manufacturing location, starting with early prototype builds and organization of needed prototype equipment, including documentation
*             Attend key (prototype) build events for new layouts and all customer attended events
*             Drive and track P-FMEA, respecting Functional safety aspects with related documentation
*             Plan needed equipment / technology, work out statement of work and manage equipment procurement
*             Track needed equipment and tooling, ensure availability of needed material for all equipment/tool development, install equipment/design reviews before approving start of fabrication/development
*             Perform equipment buy-off at suppliers and request product manufacturing location process engineers to attend and approve as needed, drive capability studies, create list of key parameters to be transferred to quality plan
*             Plan product and process/equipment training and handover to product manufacturing location, starting after product validation readiness
*             Attend needed escalation meetings on program management level with prepared reports and options for resolution

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

*             Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive industry, preferred in manufacturing engineering
*             Bachelor degree or similar with technical education
*             Excellent project management skills
*             Good problem solving capability
*             Ability to work and live a global network environment
*             Great knowledge of lean concepts
*             Strong team spirit
*             Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive working style
*             Business fluent English
